Shaolin Three Section Staff (San Cher Kun)

7-hour intensive introductory course.

Open to all Nam Yang members who have completed the Shaolin Staff course.

The three section staff is one of the most basic, well known and popular of the flexible Shaolin weapons. Many people find it fascinatingly impressive. Its fast spinning movements are very confusing and deceptive to an un-trained eye and can easily strike fear into an opponent. Training with the three section staff is an excellent introduction to flexible weapons and can lead on to training in weapons such as the chain whip.

This course will cover the following:

•  Principles of flexible weapons generally and the three section staff in particular.

•  Learning two versions of a three section staff routine: one for individual performance and one for sparring against a spear.

•  Coaching on technique.

•  Legalities of owning and using weapons.

•  Safety Advise.

All those successfully completing this course will be offered the opportunity to learn sparring routines with the three section staff later in the year.

The course will cost £70.00. This will include a three section staff (value £30.00), 7 hours tuition, step-by-step instructions for routine and a certificate (to be presented on completion of course).

Special Offer: Weapon carrying bag. Normal price £20.00. Bought with this course £17.50. Very strongly recommended if you do not have one already, so as to be able to transport your weapons to and from training responsibly and without attracting unwanted attention.

Timings:   1:00pm – 4:00pm, (including half hour break).
