Self Development Through Shaolin Martial Arts

San Da - Chinese Kickboxing

This system of competition fighting has evolved from Chinese Kung Fu but uses boxing gloves, headguards and a set of rules to ensure safety and fairness. It is also known by the name San Shou Kickboxing.

A great deal of fitness training is involved and though it has similarities with kickboxing and Thai Kickboxing (Muai Thai) the fact that we can pick people up and dump them on the ground also gives it similarities to the Jujitsu often seen in UFC and Mixed Martial Arts fighting. It's fast, exciting and exhilarating and great fun whatever level you currently are at. If you want to run off some excess energy, practice sparring or build yourself up to be a tournament fighter, Chinese San Da Kickboxing is for you!

We enter teams for all major national competitions as well as some international tournaments. Under 18s may only compete in semi-contact competitions - i.e. they do not hit each other hard and the emphasis is on skill as a fighter rather than brute strength.

Nam Yang Martial Arts' Head UK Instructor, Master Iain Armstrong has coached the British Council of Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA) San Da Squad. The Nam Yang Martial Arts Association is therefore perfectly positioned to achieve major success in this exciting and dynamic arena. Our junior competitors have attained several World Championship titles, and our senior kickboxers just keep on getting sharper.

San Da Chinese Kickboxing is suitable for ages 6 - mid 30s.
